We have recently purchased a Versatec V-80 printer, which is attached to our VAX. We have noticed that we get long smears across the paper whenever the V-80 pauses, which is frequently. The Versatec people inform us that this is due to the fact that the V-80 runs faster than the VAX can drive it. I suppose we could change the driver process's priority -- nice it down real low -- but this would surely ruin the system's performance. Does anyone have any constructive suggestions as to what we can do to remedy this situation? Thanks, as they say, in advance. may all your bitmaps be splatter-free, Herb Jellinek (:-) SDC (a Burroughs Company) R&D burdvax!hdj 215-648-7456
