In order to solve a problem that many people cannot find the proper group for computer game discussion, I am proposing that we create rec.games.computer or something similar. Currently, rec.games.misc fulfills this purpose, but enough people post about computer "role-playing" games in rec.games.frp or post about games in comp.sys.mac or comp.sys.ibm.pc because they own a game for the the computer type of the group that they are posting that I believe there is enough call for a new unmoderated games group. I choose the name rec.games.computer because it offers the best solution to the problem. I do not know the charter to the original rec.games.misc, but it seems to me that it was created for more than discussion on how to solve various computer games. rec.games.computer would be created so that discussion on various games for computers of all makes and operating systems would have a proper forum. Appropriate contents of rec.games.computer would be hints, solutions, and discussions of various points on computer games. I pick one group because most software developers are marketing games for all computers and when a game is discussed, the game will probably universal to all systems, so that discussion can be achieved without any computer flame wars. Discussion on this subject will last for two weeks at which time there will be a call for votes on rec.games.computer. austin -- austin@bucsf.bu.edu (bigstuff to austin@buengf.bu.edu) 700 Commonwealth Box 2094, Boston, MA 02215 (617) 375-8272 BUENG '93 "The Hammer has fallen." -- Dan Forrester, _Lucifer's Hammer_
