A little while ago there was a mention on the net of a program available on the ARPANET called CPMUTL, which can read or write CP/M diskettes on the floppy disk drive built into every VAX 11/780. Could someone send me or tell me how to obtain this or a similar program? We have a VAX 11/780 running 4.1BSD. There are a few other alternatives I have explored: 1) On the 1981 Usenix tape there is a program called cpm from rosemount. However, this was from a PDP11 and uses a modified rx driver that has been hacked to handle CP/M interleaving. Has anyone gotten it to work by either modifying the program itself or hacking up the driver for /dev/floppy? 2) I believe that the VAX version of the Bridge (a CP/M simulator that runs under UNIX from Virtual Microsystems in Berkeley) can handle CP/M floppies in the VAX floppy drive. However, the cost ($3500) is rather high. Has anyone used it? What were your reactions?
