From: Lauren Weinstein <vortex!lauren@LBL-UNIX> Date: Thu Nov 18 1982 03:21:41 PST Golly. I feel like I've been saying this *alot* lately, but the same questions keep coming up. To be brief: 1) I understand the UUCP protocols and can probably answer any questions you have. There is no accurate, up-to-date information available in written form that clearly describes the production UUCP protocols. Someday, if I find time, I will probably write such a beastie. 2) The UUCP sources are part of most standard Unix source distributions. If you have a source license, you probably have the sources around your site somewhere. If you don't have a source license, you cannot legally look at the sources, since they are part of the licensed Unix software. If you have a license but don't have the sources, I'm sure we can help ... but note that you won't learn much about the protocols from looking at the sources in any case. Believe me. Hope this helps. --Lauren--

i'm in the process of installing a new uucp protocol. i plan to call it the 'e' protocol. does anyone else use this character? (it would be disastrous if so.) peter honeyman
