I have a question about (Gap Size) argument that is used with the mkfs command. You normally execute the mkfs like so: mkfs /dev/disk 65000 7 418 Disk being some section of a DEC RP06 disk drive. I figured out how the 418 is calculated (number of tracks [heads] * number of sectors per track): 19 * 22 = 418. If this had been a RM05, 418 would have been 608 (19 * 32 = 608). Now what variables are used to calculate the 7. It is the same for a 200MB drive and a 300MB drive. Thanks for any help. Jack Allen Southern Bell ...!sb1!jca (404) 529-0911
