[net.unix-wizards] Anybody changed the shell to shut off "write"s?

Out of curiosity, has anyone made a version of the shell which performs a
"mesg n" when it waits for a command to complete and a "mesg y" when it
prints its prompt, so that your train of thought is not interrupted by a
"write" when you are working on something?
