Try the <screenblank> command. This blacks out the screen until you move the mouse or touch a key. The manual actually statesthat the process will run until killed or by logging out.Under SUN OS 4.0 logging out appears to leave the process intact and therefore runs in the background regardless of whether any one is logged in. However it can be infuriating to watch the screen go black if the period is set too low especially when reading SunSpots! Gary Taylor, SUN Microsystems UK Customer Training Instructor.
