I would also like to see a way of increasing the difficulty as well as a way to set it for rapid play, and to have a better opening book. I think I've heard of some kind of GNU chess which is supposed to have a good opening book. Anyone using a version that runs under SunView? At a Sun booth at a conference I played a chess program that was running on a network of Suns, with several cpus thinking at once. It was noticeably stronger than chesstool on my Sun 3/50.
