Ok, enough mail has passed through my account that I think I can post this:
There are currently two C compilers available for the Apple.
1.) Aztec CII (C2) -- $195 from Manx Software Systems
Box 55 Shrewsbury, NJ 07701
This compiles the *entire* C language, with the exception of bit
fields. It comes complete with a linker and assembler and object
libraries, and compiles into pseudo-code. It runs an operating
system similar to The company's phone number is (201)780-4004.
2.) C65 -- $about 85 from Optimized Systems Software, whose address
I will post as soon as possible. This is a subset of C, only
containing characters and integers, with pointers and arrays to both,
and not real, dp, etc. It is reasonable for many business applications,
though, and it compiles into 6502 Assembly language -- very handy
for debugging. The op-system included is OS/A+, of Atari fame.
Yes, the compiler is also available for the Atari, though I think
there are very slight differences between the two packages.
Good luck and happy computing!
Incidentally, my friend has the former system and is m0re than pleased
with it -- it's pricier, but a bit more fun, and of course it is just about
portable-perfect; your programs written on the Vax are more likely to run
on it than the other.

try that again....
