FYI: from 4.0.1 documentation on 386i: "You cannot have two Sun386i YP domains on the same network, even after setting the policies as described on p. 19 of Sun386i Advanced Administration. This is because the DRARP daemon cannot be completely disabled by setting the ip_address_allocation policy to none." I checked with my local tech. support engineer and this means exactly what it says. It means that nobody else at MITRE can hook up a Sun386i to our net without becoming part of my YP domain. THIS IS TERRIBLE!!! (When somebody at our Bedford MA site hooked up a 386i last month our systems would no longer boot - now I know why. We solved this problem with a filter in the gateway, but that's a quick fix at best). Sun's answer is "fixed in 4.0.2". I suggest that all 386i owners scream loud and long at Sun so that we get a bug fix tape on this - I can't wait for 4.0.2! - Glenn Roberts, The MITRE Corp., McLean VA (703) 883-6820 gfr@cobra.mitre.org
