Can anyone tell me why, on a 24MB 3/260, a large program would only get about 12MB of memory, when nothing else but unix is running (essentially. By unix I mean all the daemons, too). Is there a way to make the thing get more of the available memory before it starts paging (and subsequently swamping the network)?
