Unfortunately you did not mention the level of operating system you are running. If you have SunOS 4.0 or even 4.0.1 there is a problem known by Sun. The effect was, that the output was trincated midway through printout. Try to get the serial line driver patch from their hotline if you can get around it with: Work around: If the port is held open for an indefinite amount of time, (such as "(cat foo > /dev/ttya; sleep 999999)" or cp /dev/ttya /dev/null) the file will be written correctly. best regards Wolfgang Wetz, Systems Administrator, Scientific Computing Centre c/o CIBA-GEIGY AG, R-1045.330, CH-4002 Basel, Switzerland Internet: wwtz%cgch.uucp@uunet.uu.net Amateur Radio: HB9PCX UUCP: ...!mcvax!cernvax!cgch!wwtz Phone: (+41) 61 697 54 25 BITNET: wwtz%cgch.uucp@cernvax.bitnet Fax: (+41) 61 697 32 88
