Hi folks On two of our Suns, 3/75 diskless and 3/52 (with / , /tmp and /pub on a local SCSI disk) all running OS3.2 for over two years now with no problems, start doing strange things: While doing normal work on it, mostly editing and debugging with dbx under Suntools, it suddenly (and silently) changes the UID to some other user or even root. Files which might then be created belong to a not existing user (our highest usernumber is 9000): ls -l: -rw-r--r-- 1 20568 24235 Feb 17 22:29 dbeditor.mpp -rw-r--r-- 1 20568 2645 Feb 17 22:27 lop Logging out works but logging in again crashes the machine with this message: login: trap address 0x8, pid 14020, pc = f01e66c, sr = 2000, stkfmt b, context 1 Bus Error Reg 80<INVALID> data fault address ec75058 faultc 0 faultb 0 dfault 1 rw 1 size 0 fcode 5 KERNEL MODE page map 23000000 D0-D7 1 ffffffff 3 0 0 0 3e8 3e8 A0-A7 f1a6078 ffff888e 0 effffcc f077d96 ec75058 ffff875e ffff875a Begin traceback...fp = ffff875e, sp = ffff875a Called from f01e6e8, fp=ffff876a, args=ffffffff ffff8782 f01e45e f1a6078 Called from f01e45e, fp=ffff8782, args=f1a6078 0 0 ffff87b6 Called from f04a274, fp=ffff87aa, args=ffff886a effffdc 0 21b9c Called from f0044cc, fp=effff34, args=7f 0 0 3 End traceback... panic: Bus error syncing disks... 6 6 5 2 done dumping to dev 701, offset 31858 dump succeeded and reboots again. This happens about twice a week. There was nothing that changed on the network configuration and we didn't install new software either. I would be glad if someone out there has an idea what this is!
