At a recent siguccs meeting a representative from U of Delaware Computer Center expressed unhappiness with their Unix systems. I gather it mostly stems from lack of applications, like SPSS, SAS, and other like software intended for non-CS types. Apparently they have the somewhat common problem of their users not liking the Unix interface if they are already familiar with another operating system. I'd be interested in knowing more about this situation and exactly what problems the U of Delaware Comp Center has encountered with Unix in their environment. Note that this is all second hand information so some of it may not be entirely accurate. Any U of Del people out there that could shed some more light on the subject? I have the UDel representatives name if needed. Bill Lee lee@utexas-11 :ARPA ...!ucbvax!nbires!ut-ngp!lee :UUCP ...!eagle!ut-ngp!lee
