I don't seem to be able to get 'talk' to work between a 386i (OS 4.0.1) and sun 3's and 4's (also 4.0.1). The 3's and 4's talk to each other, but when the 386i tries to initiate a connection, it doesn't work. The initial request is made and received, but as soon as the recipient responds, his 'talk' exits right away and the 386i keeps trying over and over again to restart the conversation. The same thing happens regardless of which machine initiates the connection. Can anyone tell me what's going on, and what I might do about it? Most implementations of talk ignore the "trivial" issue of machine versus network byte ordering. --wnl ]]
