With all the stuff going past about the cheap disks from Newbury (380 mb 29 ms $1095 in SCSI or ESDI), I was trying to find out how hard it would be to get one of these working in a Sun 4/260. We have the Sun 320 mb disk (SCSI -> Emulex MD21 -> ESDI -> Micropolis), hence the Sun-3 SCSI ... inside the pedestal, there is an extra power connector (well -- actually two - one 4-wire, the other a 2-wire). 1) Can you hook up another ESDI disk to the Emulex SCSI -> ESDI adapter 2) Can you attach a SCSI disk directly. For 1 and 2 -- what cables would be required, where can cables be acquired (that was one stumbling block I hit!), where / between what would the cables be installed, and (MOST IMPORTANT ;-) ) how easy is it to cook something doing this?? I've had a lot of experience hooking stuff into a uVAX, but always bought things as a kit ...
