I desperatly need some advice on some problems I am having with trying to do a remote installation of a tapeless SUN 3/180 from a tapeful SUN 3/60. The 3/60 is running 3.5 and is configured as a server. I have been able to remote boot the diag program and format the disk on the 3/180; however, when I try to copy over "minifs" I get a "write error". I have listed below a portion of the interaction with the tapeless 3/180: >b ie()stand/copy . . some messages about tftpboot . . some messages about booting copy . . From: ie()minifs To: xy(0,0,1) count=38? Write error copy completed - 0 bytes > It appears that copy has found minifs and is attempting to write to disk where it fails. We have a Xylogics 450/451 disk controller with prom rev. 'A' and a M2361 Eagle disk drive. I read somewhere that there may be a problem with rev. 'A' of the prom on the controller. Can anybody confirm or comment on this? In any case, any advice or suggestion on doing remote installations would be greatly appreciated!
