[comp.sys.sun] Reliable datagram implementations

steve@umiacs.umd.edu (04/25/89)

Craig Partridge did an implementation of RDP not all that long ago. It
sounded like a neat protocol, and the results sure seemed interesting. If
I remember correctly, there's a paper on the protocol and the
implementation in the Atlanta Usenix proceedings; if it's not there, I'd
check other Usenix proceedings, as I'm pretty sure that's where I saw a
paper. There are other references, too, but I am less familiar with
those.

I also do not know the number for the RFC describing RDP, though I think
it may be 908. That one is, at least, called 'Reliable Data Protocol'...

If all else fails, I'd suggest dropping a note to the tcp-ip@sri-nic.arpa
list and asking there.
