David Chin's suggestion of replacing mice with trackballs is interesting in some ways; unfortunately, you cannot sketch with a trackball (try it sometime) and you can with a mouse. Either one is fine for pointing, but the hand-eye coordination used in drawing simply doesn't work with a trackball. The two are not functional equivalents, so replacing one with the other is reasonable only in specific applications. Henry Spencer U of Toronto
