[comp.sys.sun] Patch and archive servers?

WEISSBORN@ntcvx1.sdr.slb.com (Bill Weissborn) (04/26/89)

Several articles and READMEs retrieved from the archive-server mention a
program called patch. I have been unable to locate this program on either
my 386i/250 or 3/260. Is this supplied by Sun and if so where is it? If
not, is it available via an archive-server? It looks like it would be a
very handy utility to have in my arsenal.

Also, are there any other archive-servers out there? I do not have ftp
capability so retrieving software can only be done via archive-server.
The Rice server has "been very, very good to me" but I am sure there must
be others out there that may have stuff that the Rice site does not. Any
help, addresses, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

[[ Patch was written by Larry Wall and is available in (among other
places) the Rice archives. Since it is a general purpose program, it is
stored under "public" in the files "patch.kit1" through "patch.kit4".
