[net.unix-wizards] Two 4.1 BSD questions

(1) Does anyone have a 4.1 driver that can handle 80Mb, 160Mb and
300Mb disks simultaneously? In particular, a up driver that
can handle RM02s and RM04s as well as Fujis, or an hp driver
that can handle SI "CMI" (Massbus) Fujis as well as RM03s and
RM05s? We have Systems Industries controllers but I would be
interested in drivers for Xylogics or Emulex controllers... I
want to be able to use the same driver to handle both an RM03
and a Massbus Fuji (on different Massbuses). The problem is
that there is no Massbus "drive type" I can use for a Fuji...
	What a botch.

(2) Time to display my ignorance. Does anyone know of a way to
use the 4.1a local networking across serial lines (e.g. DZs)? I
had a (probably naive) idea that we could dump berknet/uucp in
favor of a new file transfer protocol, for machines lacking
Ethernet or Arpanet but having spare DZ lines... Also here at
UCSD Chemistry we have an early implementation of pseudo-ttys
which uses multiplexed serial line (DZ) connections between
computers, and I was curious whether this could be folded into
the 4.1a pseudo-tty arrangement. Help, suggestions would be
	greatly appreciated.
