Hi fellow Sunspotters, I am having problems with the so-called "sendmail.mx" program, ie, the one that works with the name server daemon. We are running Sun OS 3.2 and I got the name server patch kit from Sun. We run the MX mailer only on our server/mailhost . The symptoms we get are as follows: 1. Internal mail from the server works fine. 2. Internal mail to the server disappears down a black hole. 3. External mail is returned to the sender with one or more characters in each header line eaten as follows: | eceived: by cs.wm.edu (4.0/SMI-3.2) | id AB13826; Wed, 5 Apr 89 16:33:57 EDT | : Wed, 5 Apr 89 16:33:57 EDT | rom: MAILER-DAEMON@cs.wm.edu (Mail Delivery Subsystem) | : Returned mail: Service unavailable | : <8904052033.AB13826@cs.wm.edu> | : | | ----- Transcript of session follows ----- | Connected to wmcs.cs.wm.edu: | >>> HELO cs.wm.edu | <<< 553 cs.wm.edu host name configuration error | 554 noonan@nj... The message comes through fine, just the header is eaten. This same mailer configuration file works fine with the old "sendmail". If you could reply directly to me, I will summarize the answers back to the net. Thanks.
