Can anyone tell me how to tune minfree, desfree, and lotsfree for running one large program on a Sun with 24 megs of memory. I want the large program to get more of memory than is normally allowed, as it's the only thing running that I care about. What are the trade-offs in such tuning? The large program is a version of Lisp, on a 3/60 still running 3.5 if that matters. Many thanks for any insights you have. -Reed Reed Hastings DOMAIN: hastings@coherent.com UUCP: ...!{ames,sun,uunet}!coherent!hastings INTERNET: coherent!hastings@ames.arpa, ...@sun.com, ...@uunet.uu.net USMAIL: Coherent Thought Inc. 3350 West Bayshore #205 Palo Alto CA 94303 VOICE: (415) 493-8805
