Hello sunners,
Im watching a strange phenomena (4.0 ;-) now:
When i do `ps -ax` on several diskless clients
i got only:
zappa{marcel}364: ps -ax
PID TT STAT TIME COMMAND
Anything seems to be running fine, even my cpu perfmeter
I've seen this happening several times.
Any Ideas ???

We had exactly the same problem on a Sun3/260 running SunOS4.01. I tried lots of things to no effect - the problem went away on reboot and has not returned (yet!). Phill Everson University of Bristol, UK

The only time that I can recall when I do a ps(1) and get no processes is
when the current copy of /vmunix is not the same as the one the system was
booted with.
Hope this is the answer.
