Hello sunners, Im watching a strange phenomena (4.0 ;-) now: When i do `ps -ax` on several diskless clients i got only: zappa{marcel}364: ps -ax PID TT STAT TIME COMMAND Anything seems to be running fine, even my cpu perfmeter I've seen this happening several times. We had exactly the same problem on a Sun3/260 running SunOS4.01. I tried lots of things to no effect - the problem went away on reboot and has not returned (yet!). Phill Everson University of Bristol, UK

The only time that I can recall when I do a ps(1) and get no processes is when the current copy of /vmunix is not the same as the one the system was booted with. Hope this is the answer.
