This is for a friend of mine who doesn't have usenet access... I posted this a few days ago, but our comp.sys.sun newsgroup is unreadable so I'm not sure if this made it through. If some kind soul could forward any of the helpful articles to me via mail I would be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance, Brian. (BAW@um.cc.umich.edu) __________ Brian, I need to connect my DELL 200 (AT-clone) to ttya (or b) on my SUN4/150. I'm using PROCOMM as a terminal emulator with VT-100 turned on. Also using: 9600 * 7 1 where * is various tries at parity. Also, using a 9 to 25 pin expander for the puny serial port of the AT. Have also tried with and w/o a 3 pin null modem. SYMPTOMS: When using the null modem, 9600 O 7 1, I am able to logon to the SUN, but am not able to see any echo of my activities. That is, the terminal (PC) screen remains dark. DIAGNOSTIC: Last week I plugged an H19 into ttyb using the 3 pin null modem and it connected perfectly.
