Does anyone have any experience with Introl Corporation's SCSI host adaptor on the Sun 3? They say they do Synchronous (4 MB/sec) Connect-Disconnect, and other good SCSI things that Sun's SCSI board does not. If so, I plan to get one, but I thought I'd ask if anyone's had any experiences with Introl, good or bad. I'd be interested in other 3rd party SCSI boards as well, as long as they do Synch, Con-Disconn, and support the Common Command Set. Sun (even their new & misnamed "SCSI-3") fails on the first two counts, and I'm not so sure of the 3rd. Mail to me and I'll summarize to the net if there's interest. Also, has anyone played with the just-released CDC Wren VII yet? 1.2 GB synch SCSI, 16ms access time. And if anyone's interested in seeing how 29 SCSI disks rate, Dataquest apparently just released a comprehensive survey. I haven't seen it, I just heard about it at the IEEE System Design & Networking Conference, still in progress. -- Carl Rigney cdr@amdcad.AMD.COM {ames decwrl gatech pyramid sun uunet}!amdcad!cdr 408-749-2453
