I am interested in your opinions on the subject of what the best ECAD software is for Suns, preferably Sun-4s. The applications involve board layout, schematic capture, simulation, and ASIC design. Furthermore, the end product will deal with video signals in real-time therefore everything has to be able to deal with bandwidth greater that 250 MHz. Think digital components. We have done this stuff in analog already. Piece of cake compared to what we have to do now. We are looking at Cadnetix now. Unfortunately, all of the previous work here was done in a combination of underpowered tools on 386 PCs. I'm worried that our engineers might freak out with the right tools. Don't worry about the budget but if it absolutely must be factored in, figure that we have up to $250K for hardware and software. Please reply by mail. I will summarize if anyone else cares about the results. Thanks in advance. //hjp Howard Postley internet: hjp@bambam.bedrock.com Ideal Point, Inc. uucpnet: uunet!bambam!hjp phonenet: +1 215 578 6901 uspsnet: 13428 Maxella Av M/S 236; Marina del Rey, CA 90292
