Here's one for all you postscript knowledgable, SunGKS users (don't all jump at once): I've been in the process of developing an application that uses the SunGKS software package. After a reasonable amount of effort, I got the program to draw a picture on the screen (under Suntools, of course) to my satisfaction. My next goal was to get the application to write a metafile in Postscript format so that I could print that file using a postscript translator with an Apple Laserwriter. The application wrote the metafile with no problem at all, however this metafile does not print correctly. To be specific, it spits out two blank sheets of paper (I think this corresponds to the proper number of pages). My question: is there anybody out there who has used SunGKS to produce postscript files and who has printed these out successfully using some (hopefully public domain) postscript translator? From what little I know about postscript, there may be a problem with the "header" in the postscript file.. Anyway, if anybody could give me any enlightening information on this subject, I would sure appreciate it.
