We just got our first Sun3 with the type 4 keyboard. Since we already run on the Sun386i, we thought we were ready for it. We query the keyboard type and map the function keys et al accordingly. However, under 4.0.1 on a Sun3, EVERY keyboard is reported as type 3!!!!!! It appears to be hard coded into the kernal. Thanks folks, we really needed that. (The workaround kludge is to check for the existence of an F12 key.)

You may be able to reset it to something reasonable that does what you want. -Brent -- Brent Chapman Capital Market Technology, Inc.
