I'm finally breaking out of my shell and getting ready to do some graphics work. I've looked through the SunView Manual and it looks like the stuff I want to do will be fairly straight forward. I must say I am impressed at the general scheme and layout of things. However, I think I'm misssing something. I want to have one large logical canvas for drawing, and several subwindows displaying parts of that logical canvas. As far as I can see, this is doable if you use non-retained pixwins and handle update and repaint on your own. That seems terribly complex and unneccessary. It seem like there should be an attribute which you can include with the create call which says to use the same backing pixwin and someother window, but I can't find it. Am I out in left field ? Is what I want to do truely hard, so that doing all the non-retained stuff is a reasonable approach ? All help appreciated. Please E-mail, I'll post the interesting stuff. Thanks Evan R.
