A user had a strange experience this morning. He logged into his 3/50 normally (a 4Meg mono under SunOS 4.0.1 w/ YAPT 5.5c) and sunview began to start. Before it finished, the system crashed, dumping core, with the following error message: kbdcmd: can't allocate block for command panic: conskbdioctl: can't allocate KIOCGDIRECT response I've poked around in the core dump enough to be fairly certain that it was the sunview process which actually issued the KIOCGDIRECT ioctl that caused the crash. Has anyone else seen something like this ? Ideas on what causes it ? Tips on how to further analyse the core (I'm a bit rough when it comes to adb, and rougher still with kernel debugging) ?
