[comp.sys.sun] Looking for 1600/6250 *SCSI* 9-track tape

mcb@ncis.tis.llnl.gov (Michael C. Berch) (07/15/89)

One of the projects here has an application requiring the ability to read
and write 9-track tapes at 1600 and 6250 BPI in MIL-STD-1840A format,
which I am told is the same as ANSI labeled tape format.

The twist is that they are looking for a tape system with a SCSI interface
to to this this, so it can be plugged right into an (existing) Sun 3/60
that is devoted to the project.

I am not familiar with such a device, and our Sun rep scratched his head,
too. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
