[comp.sys.sun] refreshing core dumps with sunos 4.0

kohli@crd.ge.com (Jim Kohli) (09/09/89)

Does anyone have any (useful) suggestions about why a Sun 3/50 would
occasionally do coredumps of suntool processes which traceback as follows:

	hal 46 % dbx /bin/cmdtool core
	Reading symbolic information...
	Read 27 symbols
	(dbx) where
	textsw_note_event_shifts(?args?)
	textsw_process_event() at 0xed4be90

	ttysw_text_event() at 0xed7d841

	etext(0x25204) at 0xed35d3b
	main(0x0, 0xefffaa0, 0xefffbd4) at 0x2a79

I have gotten this traceback from several different suntools-- most of
them are from cmdtool, but I have also gotten cores from mailtool and
rolotool (a public domain rolodex tool). The dump only occurs when the
affected window is refreshing itself-- such as when an overlapping window
is removed, or when coming out of lockscreen.

I am running sunos 4.0.x (not sure about lsb). Any suggestions would be
appreciated!
