We have a Sun 3/160M with 2 Ethernet boards ( ie0 and ie1 ) and we wish to use it as a router to isolate traffic on our local ethernet. The documentation is vague and apparently incomplete since following the manuals has been unsuccessful, although the hardware at least now seems to be working. The setup is that we have two ethernet cards: ie0 which drives the local network and ie1 which connects to the campus backbone. If someone has implemented a similar setup, then could you send me your /etc/gateways, /etc/networks and /etc/netmasks files, and describe your ifconfig command? Are there any other tricks? Thanks in advance. =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= = tony@cosc.canterbury.ac.nz OR .!{watmath, mcvax, vuwcomp}!cantuar!tony = ========================================================================= = NZ Phone: Office +64 3 667001 ext. 6354 or 6362 Home +64 3 810813 = = NZ Post: Computer Science Dept., University of Canterbury = = Private Bag, Christchurch, New Zealand. = =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=
