Is there any SunSparc user there that has experience with Sun SMD-4 or Xylogic Disk Controller. I would like to connect them to a 3.0M bits/s CDC Disk. I would like to know what is the pros and cons between them. Problem finding the right cable, etc. Thanks in advance. William Ang wang@wpi.wpi.edu

Make sure before connecting to the disk that they are compatible. Russ Poffenberger Schlumberger Technologies poffen@sj.ate.slb.com

The first SMD-4's supported only 2.4 MB/s, but the SMD-4's shipping now do support 3.0MB/s. I have one connected to a CDC 9720-1.2GB 3.0MB/s drive and it does work.
