[comp.sys.sun] audio interface on SPARCstation 1

Does anyone know the way to perform a binary signal on a SPARCstation when
it has not been recorded via the SPARKstation audio interface ?  ie
without A law or u law companding .

Does anyone know good references on the audio chip registers ?  (X, R, GX,
GR, MMR1,....)
