I have recently installed calentool (from the Rice archive) on a sun-4/260. It always displays 'today' as yesterday (if it is Tue, Sep. 26, calentool insists that it is Mon, Sep. 25). Have I done something wrong? The displayed version is 1.4. Both calencheck and calenmail know about the correct date. I would appreciate any help. Thanks... ============================================================ Milt Ratcliff Voice: 408.725.1107 PE NELSON FAX: 408.725.0825 10040 Bubb Road email: uunet!xlab!milt Cupertino, CA 95014 milt%xlab@uunet.uu.net ============================================================

I removed a "- 1" from the calculation of the return value of the function get_today() in utils.c and that *seemed* to fix the problem. But as I can't for the life of me figure how no one noticed the problem before, I'm not 100% sure. Steve Kennedy att!cbosgd!smk

[Re: off by one in calentool v1.4 as ftp'd from Rice archives] Yes, there was an off by one bug in v1.4. It slipped by because it didn't show up until Jan 1 1989. It has since been fixed by a patch file. Version 1.4 has been completely replaced by version 2.1, (currently at patchlevel 4). If you are still using 1.4, you really should replace it. A copy of v2.1p4 can be ftp'd from the "incoming/calentool" (rather than sun-source) directory in the Rice archives. For those of you at patchlevel#2, patch 4 (which includes patch 3) is in the comp.sources.sun queue. Keep those calentool cards and letters coming. [If anyone wants to do/help in a XView port, let me know.] Ed's Note: I will replace 1.4 with 2.1 in the sun-source directory ASAP. -Bill Randle Tektronix, Inc. billr@saab.CNA.TEK.COM
