Now that I've gotten three new SparcStation Is with GX boards, I'm wondering exactly what a GX board *does*. The documentation just says that it accelerates existing SunView programs, and it does, but what about the 3D applications I saw at Siggraph, like flight simulators and anti-aliased lines? Do I have to run PHIGS to see any of this, or is there some kind of programming interface? The manuals talk about a "GX Technical Note", but it doesn't give a part number and my local Sun guy hasn't heard of it. Also, are there any graphics-specific demos one can get? "Shaded" just doesn't cut it any more. Mike Caplinger, ASU/Caltech MOC Project
