[comp.sys.sun] SCSI disk for Sun 4/260

HRC@PSUVM.BITNET (10/06/89)

We have a Sun 4/260 with 2 280 Mb disks and a 60 Mb tape drive. Recently
we used up 90% of our disk space. Our budget does not allow us to obtain
a large SMD disk. Does any one has the experience to connect a SCSI disk
to 4/260. Thanks !

You shouldn't have to much of a problem. You'll need to attch to the
internal SCSI bus where the 60M tape is. This will require a 50 pin
ribbon cable that will need to go out of the sun somehow (usually out of
the back of the sun where the VME slots are at.) You could check with a
3rd party vendor like Artecon for exacts but you should have any problems.
You will need a drive that has it's own drive interface board ( ie -
Emulex MD21)
