Some RS232 questions: (I apologize if they head the list of Top-Ten Entry-Level Sparcstation Questions.) I need to attach eight 9600 baud VT-100 clones to one of our two networked Sparcstations for low-volume data-entry in our electrically noisy old museum. Price matters, but I'd rather have a low-maintenance, OS-revision-robust product than an absolute minimum price. 1. What eight-or-more-port TCP/IP async terminal servers have a good reputation among the Sun user community? 2. What about SCSI-to-RS232 interfaces? As an example, Uninet's SL-81-1 maps one SCSI address to 8 async ports and a single Centronics parallel port, and is said to work with Sparcstations. 3. Is there a S-Bus to RS232x8 interface or some other solution that I've missed? Please respond by email, and I will summarize replies by email or for the net if there is interest.
