I have a client who wishes to do medical imaging on a Sun. He is weighing the relative advantages of upgrading his Sun 4/110 (adding a TAAC board) versus purchasing a SparcStation 1GX outright. I would appreciate any experiences, insights, yeah, even opinions, and will gladly post a summary. -- Lyle Wiedeman Distributed Computing Support wiedeman@orion.cf.uci.edu Academic Computing Services wiedeman@UCI.BITNET Univ. Of course you know that the TAAC takes 3 slots, so he would have to pay for not only the TAAC board but also the larger cabinet. Mike Howard

TAAC vs. GX ----------- Would anyone care to share what knowledge they have of the relative advantages of buying a TAAC board versus GX graphics cards for a lab of SPARCstation 1's served by a SPARCserver 370. The application area is analysis of remotely sensed synthetic aperture radar imagery.
