[comp.sys.sun] the syslogd on my SUN 4/110 running 4.0.1 hogs 100% CPU

I have recently enabled ethernet and have a working tcp/ip connection to
the VAX 11/785.. ie, telnet and ftp work.

The only problem is that my syslogd process uses 100% of the CPU time. Is
there some way to fix this? Is there some good reason for this to happen?
I have seen a similar cry for help posted several months ago. Will
appreciate a precise reply.

Thanks

Maybe even for 4.0.1 /etc/syslog.conf should have the first two lines set
as:

# The following line fixes a 4.0 FCS syslogd bug:
define(LOGHOST, 1)
