I added a 24 bit color frame buffer (CG8 device) to my SUN 4/110. The default X Window SUN server does not seem to support this device. Has anyone written a server to support this device? Can anyone suggest how to get X Windows running on my beast again? Please Email responses to cristy@vax1.acs.udel.edu. Thanks muchly in advance.

They sent us a cg6 on loan. Release 4 of X11 apparently has 24-bit support and will be available in mid January. This currently seems your best bet. If you get other information indicating availability of 24-bit support *now*, I'd certainly appreciate hearing about it.
