I'd like to do file transfers between a Unix system and a VMS (on VAX-750) at the same site. Anyone know of uucp running under VMS, or something else that could do the job? Thanks, John Wakerly ...!Shasta!wakerly or wakerly@SU-SIERRA

From: Mike Muuss <mike@brl-vgr> UUCP on VMS? Why bother? Why don't you go out and get a TCP/IP implementation for your VMS, and buy some arbitrary LAN hardware (Ethernet, Pronet, etc) and build a small local network? Probably easier to do, and gives you more flexibility, than just bringing up UUCP on VMS. BRL is getting TCP/IP implementations for all our computers, and this seems to be about the best way to make dozens of different computers actually communicate effectively. Best, -Mike
