[net.unix-wizards] Anyone have uucp running on VAX VMS ?

wakerly%Shasta%su-score@sri-unix.UUCP (06/14/83)

I'd like to do file transfers between a Unix system and
a VMS (on VAX-750) at the same site. Anyone know of uucp
running under VMS, or something else that could do the job?

Thanks,

UUCP on VMS? Why bother?

Why don't you go out and get a TCP/IP implementation for your VMS,
and buy some arbitrary LAN hardware (Ethernet, Pronet, etc) and
build a small local network? Probably easier to do, and gives you
more flexibility, than just bringing up UUCP on VMS.

BRL is getting TCP/IP implementations for all our computers, and
this seems to be about the best way to make dozens of different
computers actually communicate effectively.
