These direct SCSI drives have to be even numbers. You have to call it sd2 unless you make the ESDI disk sd2 by flipping the first switch on the MD21. The built-in controller in these direct SCSI drives make the drive "Target [0, 1, etc.] drive 0", or sd0, sd2, sd4, sd6 ad nauseam. On Suns-3, only the ground, termination power, and address jumpers need to be used, and in the case of no termination, only the ground (and even they don't really need to be used) and the addressing jumpers. No parity, no spinup
