It seems that this would be the most appropriate newsgroup to ask this question. Is there a Public domain command line editor for the Sun? (OS 4.0 with C-Shell). I know that the cshell keeps a history and you can substitute ^arg1^arg2 type commands but is there anyway to bring up a command and edit it on the line??? Thanks... Jeff Bakke bakke@plains.NoDak.edu

To: Jeff Bakke (v9n24). Direct mail bounced so I'm posting here. Get bash-1.04 from prep.ai.mit.edu (Bourne Again Shell). It keeps a history of your commands, and you can edit them to your heart's content. You can also do an emacs style i-search back through the command line history.
