What are the exact requirements for the SIMM memory modules for SPARCstation1 ? Is access-time 100ns enough or should it be faster ? If so called "block-mode" (what ever it is...) required ? What is the width? 8,9 or 10 bits ? Can I get them in 4MB modules ? Kari Systa, Tampere Univ. Technology, Box 527, 33101 Tampere, Finland work: +358 31 162585 fax: +358 31 162913 home: +358 31 177412

| From: ks@tut.fi (Syst Kari) | | Is access-time 100ns enough or should it be faster? That's fine. | If so called "block-mode" (what ever it is...) required? Nope. | What is the width? 8,9 or 10 bits? 9 | Can I get them in 4MB modules? Yes. We buy the same 1Mx9 SIMMs that work in your average PC clone (can get up to 16Mb in one machine), but you can buy 4Mx9 as well (stuff up to 64Mb in each machine!). Look in the book that came with the machine if you're going to try mixing densities.
