I/we have an unusual problem here. The person who manages our system is busy and I am really the only user who is affected. Please e-mail responses so that I can provide some helpful hints/suggestions to him. I will post a summary if the problem solution appears applicable to others. System Specifics: Xterminal 'diskless' Sun 3 or 4 SUNOS 4.? Disk Server machine xmh or rn When I use my Xterminal and log into a SUN (either 3 or 4) and send mail there is a problem. I send mail either via 'r' from rn or 'send' / 'reply' buttons from xmh. The local sun then 'mails' to the server which actually mails my message. However, on the local sun copies of the body and headers (df and qf) still remain, with the header file truncated to 0 length. The mail deamon then runs again (15 minutes or so later) and attempts to send the files again. However, since the header file is empty, it fails. It continues to attempt to mail the files forever. If I actually log on the the SUN (ie, I am actually sitting right in front of the box) and I then send mail. All is well. brian oplinger@crd.ge.com
