The Math department here (UCLA) has rehashed the ucb overlays to provide more different overlays (16 vs 8) a in general to clean it up. The original overlay code is from Menlo-park (a 11/70 I believe).

If it's any interest to anyone, I have hacked out a version of the Berkeley overlay scheme for 11s on System III allowing up to 32 overlays. John Collins ....!vax135!ukc!root44!jmc
