[comp.sys.sun] SCSI on Sun 4/280

km@mathcs.emory.edu (02/12/90)

Is it true that Sun only supports the old SCSI 2 boards (the ones without
disconnect) on the 4/280, and not the newer SCSI 3 boards. Is it for
4/390, 4/490? Anyone have a SCSI 2 board they want to get rid of?

Where did you hear this? It isn't true. We just installed a SCSI-3 board
in our 4/280. It runs both a 1/4" cartridge tape on rst0 and an 8mm
Exabyte on rst1. Both have been humming along for several weeks now.

The whole package (board plus tape units) came from Artecon.
